Set up Cylink HMI in this order: Assets, Modems, Controllers, Elements, Dashboard. Dashboards are created last because they need existing elements.

An Asset is the site or system being monitored. Assets can have one or more Cylink Modems and are opened from the Assets page for controllers, dashboards, users, Raw Modbus and settings.
Pair a physical modem with an Asset. You can pair only unclaimed modem IDs. Asset settings control disconnect timing, stale values and map location.
A Controller is the PLC or Modbus unit inside an Asset. Controller IDs should match the real Modbus unit or slave IDs. Controller write passwords protect write operations.
Elements are live values, statuses, alarms and writable controls from a Controller. A config defines how Cylink HMI reads, displays and optionally writes a Modbus value.
Dashboards combine live values, HMI graphics, tables, graphs, alarms and controls for one modem. Dashboard views include HMI, Table, Hybrid and Graph.
Edit mode lets Maintainers move, resize, copy, paste, align and style dashboard objects. Removing an object from the board does not delete the underlying element.
Connectors visually join HMI objects as pipes, wires or signal lines. Dashboard widgets can include tables, active alarm tables, graphs, maps, labels, shapes and embedded dashboards.
Alarms are configured per element config. Logs are used for operational investigation and include alarm history, active alarms and Modbus write activity.
Raw Modbus reads or writes registers directly. Write actions can change PLC state and require permission, a writable config and any required Controller write password.
